How to stay safe outside during COVID-19 pandemic?

Getting vaccinated is a great step in helping to keep yourself and others safe. No COVID-19 vaccine provides 100 per cent protection though, which is why it’s important to take informed decisions about the risk involved in different activities for you and your family.
Follow guidance from your local authorities and stay informed about COVID-19 transmission and vaccination rates in your area. In places with low rates of COVID-19 transmission and high rates of vaccination, there is less risk for fully vaccinated people, but unvaccinated people, including children, can still be at risk of infection.
In many situations, it’s still recommended to continue taking precautions such as physical distancing, wearing a mask near others, frequent hand washing and self-checking for any COVID-19 symptoms before going out.

Things you always need to remember.

Always wear your mask.

  • Messaging on the importance of wearing a mask during the pandemic has at times been confusing.

  • Universal mask use can significantly reduce virus transmission in communities.

  • Masks are not perfect barriers to transmission, and should be combined with other preventative measures such as social distancing and contact tracing.

Always keep 1-2 m distance on people around you.

Social and physical distancing measures aim to slow the spread of disease by stopping chains of transmission of COVID-19 and preventing new ones from appearing.

These measures secure physical distance between people (of at least one metre), and reduce contact with contaminated surfaces, while encouraging and sustaining virtual social connection within families and communities.

Always wash and sanitize your hand.

Germs are everywhere! They can get onto hands and items we touch during daily activities and make us sick. Cleaning hands at key times with soap and water or hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol is one of the most important steps you can take to avoid getting sick and spreading germs to those around you.
